The new DNA crime lab in Greenville is ready to process evi­dence and solve crimes — all it needs is some­one to run it.

    Great to hear about the new crime lab. Just out of curios­ity any idea what type of lab­o­ra­tory equip­ment they might have gone with? I like to keep up to date with what mod­ern crime labs are choos­ing as far as their ther­mal cycler tech­nol­ogy is con­cerned. With the open source move­ment in the biotech field, the cost of instru­ments has been falling. This kind of makes sense that more DNA labs are open­ing more quickly and also it is get­ting to be that the employ­ees are the real expense in the equation.
