Greetings Forensic Science News readers.
As many of you know, I am active in my local scouting community. I received an email from a local Boy Scout who is working on an Eagle Scout project that you might be able to help with. I have included the majority of the email, but would ask that if you can help, please send donated items to my company address so that they arrive no later than April 3, 2010:

My name is James and I am working on my Eagle Scout project to benefit Balsz Elementary School in Phoenix. I need your help.
The children at Balsz are from low-income families. 90% of the children at Balsz Elementary School qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch. For my Eagle Project, we will be creating a garden area for the Kindergartner’s ecology unit. I will also be installing shelves and organizing the Kindergarten “store” area where the Kindergartners can earn small items for good behavior and doing well on their school work. Unfortunately, right now the school has almost nothing for us to organize.
How You Can Help
As you are Spring Cleaning, please look for items to help the children at Balsz Elementary School. You can drop off new or gently used items and I will make sure they get to the Balsz Elementary School Kindergartners. They need:
*
stickers
*
pencils
*
crayons
*
coloring books
*
regular reading books (for Kindergartners to read or adults to read to them)
*
stuffed animals
*
folders
*
little trinkets from the dollar storeAccording to one Balsz Kindergarten teacher, “These kids don’t have much so they really are grateful for whatever they can get.”
The Kindergarten teachers also need these items for their classroom:
*
Copy Paper
*
Lined Paper
*
Construction Paper
*
Glue
*
Glue SticksLet me know if you have any questions or if you need any additional information. Thank you!
Sincerely,
James
