San Antonio PD gets a mobile crime lab…well, that’s what the news reported.
The truth is they have what appears to be a mobile crime scene van, with very limited capabilities. It’s a bit of sensationalism to call it a “mobile crime lab”, when it can’t do DNA analysis, or blood alcohol testing.
San Antonio police have a new tool to help in the fight against crime.
The department unveiled its new crime scene investigation unit Friday. It is basically a crime lab on wheels.
Investigators are often at crime scenes for long hours. Chief McManus says not only does the vehicle provide them with the equipment they need to process those scenes, but it also provides them with much needed shelter.
