San Francisco Prosecutor's Office Shake-up after 1700 Drug Cases Called into Question

Additional information is coming out regarding the scope of Deborah Madden’s recent criminal history conviction, drug/alcohol use, and drug evidence theft. It appears that upwards of 1,700 cases have had Ms. Madden’s involvement since her criminal domestic violence conviction, previously not disclosed to prosecutors.

The then chief of the drug crimes division of the prosecutor’s office states she did not know Ms. Madden had a criminal history, nor the scope of the problems in the crime lab.

The San Francisco Prosecutors Office has gone through a re-organization, possibly as a result of the crime lab scandal.
