ASCLD-LAB Puts Nassau County Crime Lab on Probation

Come on guys, this is easy stuff. They aren’t even in trou­ble for doing shoddy work — they are in trou­ble for poor record keep­ing it seems. The ques­tion is if the lack of proper records is an over­sight, lazi­ness, or a delib­er­ate attempt to pre­vent defense attor­neys from dis­cov­er­ing poten­tially excul­pa­tory evidence.

More Problems for Houston PD Crime Lab

During a re-accreditation attempt by the Houston PD crime lab with ASCLD-LAB (Association of Crime Laboratory Directors — Laboratory Accreditation Board), the exter­nal audi­tors found problems:
