Personal inter­est in this story, Salinas is my home­town. It’s a lit­tle over 100,000 in pop­u­la­tion, but the homi­cide rate due to gang vio­lence is extreme now days. One night on my last visit out to visit rel­a­tives there was three peo­ple killed in mul­ti­ple loca­tions over town.
