Maricopa County Sheriff Deputy Stoddard Goes to Jail

Rather than apol­o­gize for his court-room shenani­gans, Deputy Stoddard reported for jail last night.

MCSO spokesper­son Douglas Matteson said Detention Officer Adam Stoddard self-surrendered at approx­i­mately 6 p.m. Tuesday and is now in a MCSO jail.

A judge had ordered Stoddard to apol­o­gize to a Phoenix attor­ney Monday night to avoid jail time, but he refused.

Stoddard was found in contempt

Maricopa County Sheriff Deputies Courtroom Shenanigans

For those of you who haven’t heard about this par­tic­u­lar inci­dent, recently in Arizona we had a court­room bailiff steal client-attorney doc­u­ments from a closed folder. The deputy had the gall to call another deputy over to make copies of the doc­u­ment, before return­ing it to the attor­ney. See video below:
